How Richmond Coach and Mortuary Gained Almost 1,000 New Visitors

One of the hardest parts of life can be experiencing the death of a loved one.

Melissa Outhous and Kathy Elliott started Richmond Coach and Mortuary to help people through those emotionally tough moments in life.

Richmond Coach has always focused on customer satisfaction and the needs of those who have lost loved ones.
They built their reputation, and their business, on the extreme level of kindness, compassion and affordability they give their clients.

Keen on keeping costs low, for their first website, they went the cheap Wix route.
They were unable to make certain updates to the design and content. The site soon fell behind modern design trends and failed to gain any rankings on Google.

Melissa and Cathy knew they needed something to change.

Finding Their Story Through Collaboration

We began with our UX strategy meeting.

This conversation involves asking the business owner questions about their goals and desired tone.
We use what we learn from our clients to create a brand identity and a target audience.

Since the beginning, Richmond Coach & Mortuary has been focused on delivering sympathetic and kind funeral services to grieving families. They want to provide comfort to those going through the grief of losing a loved one, and perhaps grief from finances.

We spent time listening to their stories of compassionate service to families experiencing loss.

And we found that Richmond Coach and Mortuary uniquely supports people by offering personalized funeral plans that cater to their needs.

Reaching More People in Need of Closure

The content was written to evoke their levels of compassion, kindness, empathy and selflessness. The website’s design made it more navigable and accessible for users.

With these elements finalized, we launched Richmond Coach and Mortuary’s new website.

Since its launch in late April, the site has seen a huge increase in traffic.

Increase in New Visitors Since Website Launch

A 226.53% increase in new users in 2 months. That’s almost 1,000 new users.

 

In total they’ve seen 3,619 new users since their launch.

They’ve also greatly increased their visibility on Google. Where before they didn’t show up in the first 5 pages for related queries and keywords, they now rank on the first page for local queries including the term “affordable”.

Cathy and Melissa understand how important their affordable and empathetic funeral service is to grieving people.

All they needed to succeed was a slight push in the right direction.
